As floor plan software goes, the Floor Planner is simple.
It is a tool primarily designed for realtors and home measurers, though anyone can create a floorplan and put it online with the Floor Planner software.
Step 1: Measure your home. Walk through every room and measure the length of each wall. As you do so, make notes and sketch the rooms (graph paper is best). Once you have that doen you should have a page for each floor of your house that looks something like this:
You should also have the measurements of the various walls, usually in feet and inches.
Step 2: Make a floorplan. There is nothing wrong with using the sketch above for your home, as long as it is clean and clear. You are trying to convey the layout of your house as simply as possible and this sketch will do that. Professional floor planners will use a computer to generate a floor plan like the one below:
The color isn't necessary, but it does help group rooms with similar functions visually.
Step 3: Photograph your house. Before doing so, clean and tidy it thoroughly. The floor plan will help buyers understand the layout of your house, but the photos will sell it.
